Editing - Title

We thought it would be a nice idea to have the title of our film 'Red Balloon' actually written on our red balloon. This was a nice idea in theory but in practise it proved quite difficult to capture the balloon in the frame of the shot without it moving around too fast as there was a lot of wind that day. To overcome this we took a large variety of shots and managed to hold the balloon so it wouldn't move around too much. The shot we chose allows the audience to read the title, however in editing we found that the title was not large enough and there was too much space in the frame. So we had a go at cropping the shot in order for the balloon and therefore the title to be bigger. We decided this was better as it drew more attention to the title and identified the shot as the title sequence which we worried it might not have looked like if the writing wasn't the dominant part of the frame. However this still proved a challenge as it meant the balloon wouldn't always be in shot. However we decided it was appropriate for our film.
